GROWING UP
I grew up on a farm where driving tractors and combines way before I had a driver’s license was just part of the job description (and yes, I could back up a grain truck better than most adults). When I wasn’t farming, I was fishing on Lake of the Woods, where I learned that patience is a virtue and that walleye don’t care how cool your bait looks. My imagination got its workout building Lego masterpieces and running wild outside, turning sticks into lightsabers and dirt piles into battlegrounds with my younger brother.
Then one day... I watched The Empire Strikes Back and just like that, I was hooked. Star Wars wasn’t just a movie; it was a portal. A new hope, if you will. Ever since, I’ve been proudly repping the galaxy far, far away (and occasionally trying Jedi mind tricks on stubborn real estate deals).
It was a childhood fueled by fresh air, hard work, a bit of mischief, and one unforgettable trip to Hoth.
CURRENTLY
These days, life looks a little different but just as fun. I’m lucky enough to share it with my amazing wife, Nicole, and our two rescue dogs, Becky (the sassy one) and Karen (the CEO of snuggles and side-eye). I still love Star Wars just as much as I did the first time I watched The Empire Strikes Back although now I quote it during business meetings and open houses like it’s completely normal.
Legos still make an appearance, but now they’re joined by software, systems, and strategy sessions where I get to use my imagination for something even better: helping others build their dream lives. Whether it’s launching new ideas, solving big problems, or coaching agents through their next chapter, I’m all in.
Turns out, growing up on a farm, loving Star Wars, and being a lifelong Lego nerd trained me perfectly for a career of creativity, problem-solving, and thinking big. And now... I get to use all of that for Good.
